Some brandings
I figured this would be fun to share, too often I am posting personal artwork rather then full fledged designs and concepts. These are two of the projects I have been busy with. One of which was a simple re-brand/look for an ice cream shop out here on the east end of Long Island which has been a landmark in Mattituck; Magic Fountain. Its been family own and operated since the 60's and hence they wanted to preserve an older yet refined look. The second of the two is a design for a small home business in New Hampshire that does specialty cupcakes "How Sweet!" Right now I am in the process of creating menus for both establishments.

Year of the Rabbit
HARE'S to (pun!) The upcoming Year of the Rabbit 2011!
2011 is the year of the Metal Rabbit- in particular the "yin" or female aspect of the metal sign. Naturally fitting I found silvers/grey to be the perfect tone to work with with a hint of blue.
The Kanji below reads Happy new years in traditional Chinese. Also symbolizing the feminine energy i chose to place the moon in there (as well as its Asiatic lore with the rabbits on the moon)
On the upper right hand corner is a "Plum Blossom Coin"
(taken from fengshui best buy)
"Plum blossom epitomizes determination, confidence, perseverance, longevity and indomitable spirit because of its ability to blossom in cold harsh climate. If there is someone in the household who lacks interest to be successful in life, this coin promises "upward mobility". It will extend ones life to soar in greater heights and reach the peak. Recommended for students, business people, sales people and those seeking to maximize their luck in life. "
Blessed Holidays!

JavaJava
Ok first off I want to thank Eirik of drawinks.com for being so awesome and allowing me to do this. I can't take credit for the idea because it was a doodle of his epic art that sparked the initial want to play with this! Rhinos are an animal I feel that do not get enough attention. both for their majesty and rarity. Many of which are critically endangered. The idea came to me immediately when I saw Eirik's sketch to place two and two together. What two do I speak of? well Javan Rhinoceros.. and Java (Coffee!)
