Beach Bum Savasana!

I think I had too much fun making this one, combining two of my favorite elements, yoga and the beach! the inspiration from this comes from our wind-down after an hour of "asana kicking yoga" at the best studio out there (I'm biased! ;) The Fierce Club After the workout we lay down on our mats in a pose called "savasana" and unwind. Often at times I'm so cranked up and covered in sweat from a great workout I imagine that I'm laying on the beach (Of course! I'm from Long Island!) and so hence this image was born. I plan on doing a male version as well wish a similar limited (5 tone) color pallet.

Long time no Write!

You all have my sincerest apologies for such as well. The lack of updates have been within good reason if you'll allow me for one brief moment to break the "art only" and professionalism atmosphere of this blog. Rather then bring everyone down with disappointing news I'll post the good first!

Two months ago at June's end I moved from the historic little town of St. James on the north shore to what I call nothing short of God's country. I'm now happily situated on the North Fork of the Island in the tiny hamlet of Baiting Hollow. Also known as wine country! We have an overlook of the Long Island Sound from my balcony, and we are surrounded by woods! (and "Mc Mansions!" however luckily our house is not. There is a beautiful Koi pond that is in the backyard which I spent the last month fixing up. So far out here I have seen deer, turkeys and their babies, osprey, turtles, and I am woken up each morning by a screeching red tailed hawk that nests nearby. Nature has been a huge inspiring factor in my life and now I can happily say I am surrounded by it all!

Sadly now come the bad news (but with more good news at the end so bear with me!) The final week of June I had the contents of my backback robbed from me. That's right. My livelihood and all the technological tools that make me a Graphic Designer were in that bag, My laptop (my working machine) my tablet, my ipod (because music fuels the art!) wallet, phone, everything.. even jewelry I had on that I had took off! I was upset and speechless that someone would do such a thing, or that anyone in this world can steal something. *shakes her head* So I had a very much unwanted hiatus from the internet and communications.

Now, the good news is now mid/late July I own a new laptop, found some older disks with some (not all) backup, but some and I am working on rebuilding it all. Its taking time as I need to find my Fonts, and there are some files that cannot be replaced. However as an artist and a person I wont let that get my down! So long as I have air in my lungs, a pad, pen and the promise of a brand new day I continue to create! for I -AM- an Artist.

My apologies to those that follow my art or this blog for a lack of contact and updates. I'm currently adding new features, and there will be much more art and adventures to come!
